Nobody would claim that Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a game that's intended to look realistic. For example, some of the duels are QTE (quick time events) and some enemies repeatedly use dynamite as their weapon of choice, something that doesn't seem very fair. Strangely, the game contains some unusual aspects. Advanced strategical planning skills aren't needed here - you really just need to shoot and leave. In other terms, you know exactly where they're going to come from, and when you need to shoot them. Levels are very linear, and enemy AI looks a lot like it did in early iterations of games of this type. Classic Wild West weaponsĬall of Juarez: Gunslinger is a standard, first person action game. You'll need to use everything to have to hand to defeat the band of outlaws and, just like in the movies, things are likely to end in a duel with your main target. You'll see places like classic wild west saloons, mines and ranches. Your aim is to take down some of the most infamous gunslingers around, using a varied arsenal that includes rifles, revolvers and even dynamite, if you're lucky. Make no mistake: when the developers designed Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, they wanted to make a game that kept players entertained without making them think too much.
